The extensive range of Easi-Grip adaptive scissors have all been ergonomically designed and developed from working with clients with grip and grasp strength difficulties. These scissors are recognized for their quality, utilizing only high grade materials, giving them a longer life. Blade guards are supplied with all self-opening scissors for safe storage. Easi-Grip scissors are lightweight (under 2 oz.) & require little pressure to close the blade. First Cut™ Adaptive Scissors These innovative scissors provide guides for proper finger placement, aiding children in developing good habits early. The adjustable loop isolates the index finger allowing it to act as the guiding finger. The specialized thumb hole promotes thumb flexion resulting in increased web space and allows greater leverage while cutting. The thumb hole piece may be reversed to adapt the scissors to cut left-handed. First Cut™ Adaptive Scissors 190040 $19.50 Short Cuts™ Short Cuts™ is a scissor adapter that provides graded sensory awareness of grasp and release movements and expedites mastery of cutting skills. The bumper between the handles prevents the scissor blades from closing, allowing only short, successful cutting strokes on the line. The child's eyes are drawn to the blades due to the inability of the scissors to close and this promotes the necessary visual attending to the cutting line. Short cutting strokes allow the non-dominant hand to keep consistent pressure while feeding the paper in the scissors. The verbal cue to “tiptoe on the line” will encourage the child’s adaptation to the feel of the decreased movement of the scissor handles. When mastery using the large bumper is attained, twist Short Cuts to the small bumper for more independent graded movement. .Short Cuts™ Scissor Adapter 190050 $13.00 Short Cuts™ Adapter w/ Scissors 190055 $19.00 !
